Happy New Year! I love writing blog posts at the beginning of the year… mainly because I write this, then I forget what I wrote, and next year I’ll wonder what I wrote and look back at this. And whatever it was I wrote will remind me of where I was. That being said, I just looked back at last years post and I almost feel IDENTICAL. I actually thought I felt the same before I looked back, and yes. I do. I still struggle with what I struggled with last year at the same time. I think that after the busy season we just wrapped up (which consisted of AMAZING people) it’s probably pretty normal to feel a bit run down. But all that to say, 2013 for me is going to be about change for our lives. We’ve never been ‘in the box’ type of people, so it’s not something unusual, but I am going to try to broaden our horizons and work towards simplifying our routine. Right now we’re getting pulled in a 1000 different directions, and it’s not easy to keep up… so instead of chasing everything around trying to catch it, my goal is to simplify. I have dreams and ideas I want to bring into existence this year, but unless I get simplified it won’t happen. One of the changes will be with this blog. I’m not sure what will change aesthetically, but things will be different.

If you are wondering what you should commit to or change in 2013, I challenge you to look at your life and decide what you DON’T need, or what you should DO to change parts the parts of your life you struggle with. It’s easy to look at what you don’t have and want, but it’s probably more important to look at what you DO have and remove the parts that are keeping you from accomplishing more.

Seattle Wedding: Jeremy and Annette

So, 2012 is coming to a close rather quickly and I still have a few weddings left to blog from the year! Jeremy and Annette were married on 10.11.12 and the day was GORGEOUS! I loved all the handmade and crafty details that were part of the day, including the bridesmaids pinwheels. There wedding was held at Freemont Abbey, which is perfect for an artistic couple.

I feel like fall just skipped right into winter… and here we are, putting decorations up and thinking about all the fun traditions we’re going to include in this year’s Christmas… but before I get too ahead of myself I have several fall weddings filled with beautiful sunshine coming this way! Today is Danny and Cally… who are an absolute blast! Their wedding was so beautiful and included so many fun elements… first there was a definite harvest theme, then add in the awesome “Princess Bride” elements and finally topped off with tons of color, beautiful flowers and PERFECT weather. It doesn’t get much better around here.

Josh and Meagan are SO fun, and their wedding was just that. A day of beautiful fun. With Fall finally here it’s so fun to reminisce and see proof of our glorious summer. I ADORED Meagan’s Maggie Sottero ballgown dress and her bridesmaids dresses from Modcloth were adorable! There were so many fun elements to this wedding, check it out!

Golly, where to start. First of all, LOVE these two. Photogenic, fun, darling, easygoing and totally in love. Their wedding was so full of special moments, special people and AMAZING light. All. Day. Long. If I could wish it, I’d have every single wedding be identical in lighting to this one. We LOVED their choreographed entrance into the reception with their entire wedding party. It’s not everyday that you get to experience something so fun. I mean, any choreographed dance is awesome, right? On a personal note, we are still SO swamped with work, sorry of my lack of blogging, but there are so many things going on in our life at this exact moment!

Backyard Wedding: Mia and Frank

I’ve been so excited to blog this wedding. Going through it made me miss being there. Mia and Frank are one of the happiest couples I’ve seen. They truly have a blast together and seem to not have a care in the world. Their day so wonderful. From the perfect backyard setting (that they created at Mia’s parents home), the wonderful families they have and the joy these two people obviously bring to the people around them.

Seattle Wedding: Mike and Kerry

Mike and Kerry’s wedding was so amazing. They both have been through difficult journeys, and because of that they share a love that is extremely authentic and peaceful. Their wedding was unique because they had SOOOO many kids there! It was awesome! The whole day was fun, colorful, tears of joy filled and meaningful. The kids at the wedding had their own banquet room, with their own ‘kid friendly’ buffet and yard games to keep them busy. This wedding reminded me how important Matt is to me, and how blessed I am to have such an awesome husband. It’s always a good feeling to finish a day of work and be reminded of the gifts you’ve been given.

One more thing, a big shout out to Michelle Engvall for her awesome coordination of this wedding. I cannot tell you how important I think it is to hire a coordinator! Michelle is a rock star who makes the day seamless!
