Okay, so I apologize for not posting as regularly as I’d like… it’s that time of year when my head is spinning because of how much stuff I have to do. It’s RIDICULOUS… but in a really good way. Anyways, you might recognize this couple from a couple of years ago…they welcomed their beautiful baby girl Evelyn into the world a couple of weeks ago. She is so sweet! I was so thrilled to see this family grow and to take photos of their doll.

Eve is seriously cute… but really, what newborn isn’t cute to someone who has already had two? Her newborn session was done at seven days and she decided that she really didn’t like the idea of me messing up her day… so, we had to improvise and work around her disdain of being photographed. If you have baby fever, this is your warning… I have THREE more newborn sessions to blog!!

I’m soooo excited for these two to start their family. First babies are extra special because there is sooo much anticipation surrounding the arrival. As the parent, you don’t know what you’re getting yourself into, but all you do know is that you can’t wait to see what your baby will be like, look like and how much your life will change. And then suddenly, you’re a family of three and the third is someone who you don’t choose to love, but immediately and permanently love more than you knew possible.

I’m super in love with this session. Not only are the photos sweet and beautiful, but these two were so fun and easy going. Whenever I take maternity photos I always wish I had done them for myself. There is only such a short time in life that you get to experience pregnancy, and even if all the ‘side effects’ of growing a baby aren’t very fun, it’s still one of the most special times in life and worth capturing forever.

Okay, confessional time… I was supposed to get this wedding up last week… but then my whole computer system went CRAZY, or as my sister and I would say “cray-cray’, and I had to start over on this wedding. So now I’m back logged with a bunch o’ photographs, so this week my plan is to overwhelm the blog with pictures.

About this couple… it’s so awesome to see people you know from different parts and times of your life come together, and that is the story with these two. They are wonderful, loving and amazing on their own, and so, together they will just be even better. Cheers to families coming together, new ones forming and lives brought together in perfect timing!

Seattle Wedding: James and Beth, vol. 1

2012 is rolling right along, and wedding season is RIGHT around the corner. After a few weeks off for the holidays, we jumped back into gear with James and Beth’s wedding. First off, I. LOVE. THIS. WEDDING. It’s drool worthy, so you might want to go grab some tissues or a napkin or handkerchief or something. Besides Beth’s perfect style, they also incorporated who they were as a couple into every last detail. They hand picked out all the beverages, the food from Ravishing Radish, and Beth even gave the caterers her famous guacamole recipe. Everything in this wedding means something to the couple, or expresses their style and who they are, which in my mind makes it a perfect wedding. If your wedding infuses who you as an individual and as a couple, it will always be perfect. Enjoy vol. 1 of this beauty… vol. 2 will be coming soon!

Puppies are really hard work. Like a full time job hard work. When they (insert chasing him to get Snow White out of his mouth here) aren’t chewing on something they are biting someone, eating something or just misbehaving in general. If I didn’t work from home, I really don’t think I’d have the time or patience to handle this ‘situation’. But, all that to say, the 34 seconds that Stanley was laying under my desk while I was working is totally worth the amount of (insert ten minute potty break for Stanley here) hard work this little dude takes(OHMYGOSH, retrieving measuring cup from teeth…why is that on the floor?). Seriously. I just had to do all that while writing, what? Six sentences? Okay, here is some really cute pictures, with my actual conversation I was having in my head…

“Stanley? STANLEY!! Where are you? Oh, wait, I just kicked your head… you’re sleeping . Oh my gosh… where is my camera?!?!?!? I hope the shutter doesn’t wake him up.”

“Oh my gosh, you are the cutest thing ever. Really though, this camera isn’t even interesting to you?

“Crap. The camera IS interesting to you. Don’t move… unless it’s to show me your giant ears.”

“aww…cute move. Good one, buddy.”

“Kay, now this is just getting out of hand. You’re cuteness is too much. Are you laying on your other ear?”

“Awwwww, you’re just like me… a back sleeper.”

“Please don’t grow up Stanley.”

Meet Stanley!

Matt and I have been married for almost six years… and we finally got our first dog. I have wanted a dog since before we were even married, so it’s been a long time coming! Stanley is an almost 13 week old Pembroke Welsh Corgi. He is a ball of fuzz, fat and loose skin with some very sharp teeth thrown in there as well. I’m totally in love with this little guy. This morning it snowed, (ick), but it was fun to capture Stanley hopping around and geeking out in it.

My totally radtastic and amazing sister in law, Cat, and her super look alike twin cousin Jessica wanted a photo shoot together. They have always been BFF’s, and seriously look like fraternal twins. They both are free spirits, both have a bit of earthy goodness in them, so a gypsy shoot only seemed fitting. Jessica also wanted to incorporate horses into the shoot, so we headed to my barn to shoot some frames with my beloved horse, Pride. (I am seriously so in love with this horse, she’s my favorite.) For two girls who haven’t really been around horses, they did great! And Pride did awesome when she was being bribed with food… a girl after my own heart… Anyways, someday I want a REAL gypsy horse, but until I find $20,000 sitting around to pay for one, that dream is on the back burner:)
